Description
The signature Baroque imprint of Malabar is felt in the highly intricate and meticulous carving of the modern Pilar table. Inspired by floral ornaments from beautifully decorated Baroque churches, palaces, manor houses, and monuments, the attractive Pilar coffee table brings emotion, dynamism, and history into luxurious dining rooms.
This connection between contemporary and historical elements in this dining table was crafted to withstand the test of time thanks to its skeleton structure made of gilded brass, supporting a vintage-finished wooden top with silver leaf and patina, and an ornate edge, hand-carved from wood in a high-gloss lacquer.
The Malabar brand was established in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the stylish World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory collections.
Malabar has made its mark at the most prestigious international fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing.
Malabar furniture production originates from the Porto area, in northern Portugal, known for its long-standing tradition of handcrafted products.
The identity of this luxury brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.
International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted craftsmanship, and space-age design create an explosive mix of luxurious furniture.
The various techniques used in creating products from natural wood produce incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.
Vivid and striking colors dominate, significantly diverging from classic and stereotypical furniture.
Besides wood, the manufactory uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.
The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in bold furniture designs.
The company’s name itself derives from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a daring sea route.
This remains true today, as Malabar continues to define highly individual design boundaries and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, bold, and extremely exclusive.
These are the products we love and bring to the My Luxury Products platform.
