In complete opposition to this situation is the philosophy of Berti Knives, a manufacturer of exclusive knives for various purposes. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop appears to be entirely autonomous from the trends that have taken place worldwide over the years. Its core value is a commitment to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of these Italian artisans.
The founders strongly reject the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the offered products. Therefore, their company's philosophy places special emphasis on the employed staff. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are highly desirable, provided they bring elements consistent with their traditional approach and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized groups of workers; instead, they are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, and handles are, among others, made from bison, buffalo, deer horns, or 'bosso' wood.
