Description
Original planters are increasingly popular due to their unconventional shapes, vibrant colors, and design that was previously unavailable in such form as today.
We are pleased to present to you the collection of modern planters by Kama Flower, which offers products distinguished by exceptional quality and a wide range of shapes, sizes, and colors. The pots are made from durable and highly resistant materials, making them suitable for outdoor use as large garden planters or as excellent interior decorations.
Planters are the perfect addition to offices, homes, apartments, and gardens. They also serve wonderfully as elements of small architecture on streets and in parks. Everyone will be captivated by their unique shapes and refined beauty.
Plants can be planted directly in the planter or in an additional insert placed inside the planter. Inserts are available for all models of planters, and their size is more than sufficient for most plants. These inserts, along with the plant, can be easily removed from the pot—they are equipped with handles. This allows for very simple replanting and simplifies maintenance work, such as repotting. Using inserts also ensures immediate replacement of a sick or dried-out plant with a new one, previously planted in a separate insert and cared for as a reserve. This is especially important in prominent locations where greenery should always be attractive.
Garden or terrace planters (except for the Parga model) can be purchased with wheels, enabling easy movement. In this case, plants should be planted in the insert to keep the planter’s weight manageable. The wheels have non-marking tires and are placed in a special recess at the bottom of the planter—they are practically invisible.
Our planters are very lightweight yet extremely durable. Their light weight, combined with the ability to plant in inserts, allows them to be safely placed on balconies, rooftops, or terraces. They will delight residents and create an excellent atmosphere without risking overload of the surface.
RESISTANCE AND DURABILITY
Planters are made from glass-reinforced vinylester and polyester composites. This is a technology used and proven in the construction of marine yachts. We use the best materials from well-known manufacturers, guaranteeing their excellent quality. As a result, we can offer products at the highest global standards.
They can be used both indoors and outdoors. They are ideal as garden planters, terrace planters, interior planters, and as elements of small architecture on streets and in parks.
Resistant to water, high temperatures, and strong frost (if no water remains inside), sunlight, exhaust fumes, air pollution, and biological factors. They are also very durable and long-lasting. In this regard, they far surpass ceramic planters—they cannot be broken or chipped, unlike steel or wooden ones, which degrade over time. The surface of the planters is perfectly smooth and glossy, significantly reducing dirt accumulation.
GARDEN PLANTERS
When using garden planters, it is important to protect them from damage caused by freezing water inside. Water expands by about 10% when it freezes into ice—trapped in a closed space, it exerts enormous pressure on the walls. To prevent this, holes should be made in the bottom of the planter to allow excess water to escape. Three holes of 6 mm diameter drilled in the lowest part of the bottom in a ring shape are sufficient. For drilling composites, standard metal drill bits are used, and this can be done by yourself or ordered from us when purchasing the planters. If plants are planted in inserts, similar holes should also be made there. Soil should never be poured directly into the container’s bottom but always over a drainage layer covered with geotextile. Gravel, expanded clay, or small stones can be used for drainage. This prevents the holes from clogging and allows excess water to drain freely. In cases where planters are to remain outdoors during winter, some plant species face the risk of root ball freezing during severe frosts. In such cases, when planting the plant, an insulating layer should be placed inside the walls of the planter, made from materials such as polystyrene or bubble wrap. It should be approximately 10 centimeters thick.
If the plants in the inserts are very developed, the planters may be knocked over by the wind. To prevent this, additional weight such as stones, sandbags, etc., can be placed at the bottom inside the planter.
It looks very attractive if the soil in the planter is covered with a decorative layer of gravel, pebbles, or bark. For garden planters, this also limits weed growth and prevents the soil from drying out. When using inserts, the decorative layer will mask their edges, making them completely invisible.
LARGE PLANTERS
When choosing the type and size of planters, it is important to consider whether it will be possible to bring large planters—especially XL and XXL—into the planned location. Sometimes, door and window dimensions are the limiting factor.
Planters produced by KAMA flower are very lightweight yet extremely durable. This is due to the proper design, materials used, and technology. The weight of small-sized planters (S) ranges from 3 to 4 kg depending on shape, medium-sized (M) from 5 to 7 kg, large-sized (L) from 7 to 9 kg, XL from 18 to 24 kg, and XXL from 26 to 34 kg. Such lightweight planters can be easily transported and placed anywhere. Even lifting them onto a roof or terrace of a building is not very difficult if they are too large to carry through the staircase.
Planters filled directly with soil without inserts can be very heavy. Soil density is about 1.5 kg/liter, so filled XXL planters can weigh up to 1000–1500 kg. It is important to choose the location carefully for placing them, as moving them later can be very difficult. Also, check whether the terrace, veranda, or balcony can withstand such weight.
Planters (except for the Parga model) can be equipped with wheels upon request. Wheels are suitable for hard surfaces and greatly facilitate cleaning indoors. If this option is chosen, plants must be planted in the insert, not directly in the planter – as it will be too heavy.
