Description

Kengo Kuma is a renowned architect known for designing numerous pavilions in the background, each telling a story and always emphasizing their passion for geometry. The modern Kuma coffee table features a St. Laurent marble top, combined with the main structure in Ironwood.

The base, which is the most obvious reflection of inspiration, is made of polished brass and complements the overall design with an intricate shape. This piece can suit a contemporary living room or a set of luxurious bedrooms.

The Malabar brand was established in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the stylish World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory series.

Malabar has made its mark at major international trade fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing.

Malabar’s furniture production originates from the Porto area, in northern Portugal, a region with a long-standing tradition of handcrafted products.

The identity of this luxury brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.

International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted craftsmanship, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of luxury furniture.

Various techniques of working with natural wood produce incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.

Vivid and bold colors dominate, significantly diverging from classic and stereotypical furniture.

In addition to wood, the manufactory uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.

The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly visible in the daring furniture designs.

The company’s name comes from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a bold maritime route.

This remains true today, as Malabar continues to set highly individual boundaries in design and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, daring, and extremely luxurious.

And these are exactly the products we love and introduce on the My Luxury Products platform.

What raw materials does Malabar use?

The company uses the most luxurious types of wood. These include: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, beech, basswood, olive wood, bird’s eye, irregular grain, poplar, satinwood, and ash.

Malabar also employs ancient lacquer techniques. First, copper, gold, silver, pink, and tiger-colored leaf is applied, then lacquered.

The types of glass used by the manufacturer include: dark glass, smoked, gold, antique, and antique brown.

The marble varieties are diverse, including: Sahara, grey Kenzo, Nero Marquina, Portoro, Gris Douro, Black Gold, Guatemala Verde, Tiger Skin, Ochre, Calacatta Vagli, Estremoz, Carrara gold, Carrara, White Extremez, and travertine.

Metals are selected based on efficiency and quality. High-quality premium metals such as copper, stainless steel, and galvanized steel are used. Specifically, chrome, nickel-plated black brass, polished brass, gilded brass, polished copper, antique brass, silver brass, brushed brass, polished brushed brass, brass, and hammered polished copper.

We are happy to arrange a meeting and present all available materials about the Malabar brand. Our Luxury Products team will advise and select the most suitable furnishings and accessories for your interiors.
