Description
Kengo Kuma is a renowned architect known for designing numerous pavilions in the background, each telling a story and always emphasizing their passion for geometry. The modern Kuma coffee table features a St. Laurent marble top, combined with the main structure made of Ironwood.
The base, which is the most obvious reflection of inspiration, is crafted from polished brass and complements the intricate shape of the design. This piece can fit well into a contemporary living room or a set of luxurious bedrooms.
The Malabar brand was established in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the stylish World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory series.
Malabar has made its mark at major international fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing design.
Malabar’s furniture production originates from the Porto area, in northern Portugal, a region with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.
The identity of this luxury brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.
International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that set such original companies apart. Emotions, handcrafted craftsmanship, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of luxury furniture.
The use of various techniques in creating products from natural wood results in stunning effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.
Vivid and bold colors dominate, significantly deviating from traditional and stereotypical furniture.
In addition to wood, the manufactory uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.
The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in the daring furniture designs.
The company’s name derives from the Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a bold maritime route.
This remains true today, as Malabar continues to define highly individual design boundaries and evoke strong emotions with its projects. Their designs are very liberated, seductive, bold, and extremely luxurious.
And these are exactly the kinds of products we love and bring to the My Luxury Products platform.
