The first is subject to the idea that utilitarian objects must be aesthetic but primarily functional, crafted in an elegant, simple way - with symmetrical lines, from solid materials, where every element in the final form is carefully considered.
Art Nouveau is the complete opposite of Thistle - ornate objects are a combination of functionality and artistic craftsmanship, exquisite Art Nouveau, asymmetry, free compositions, and a wealth of ornaments that reflect the artistic soul of the owner.
