Their talent was inherited by their son Julian, who continues the family traditions. Through collaboration with international artists and designers, he creates a bridge to the future. This is a significant nod to family traditions and multi-generational manufactories. Julian believes that every cloud or colorful Italian facade reflecting in the lagoon waters provides vibrant material for new projects. Many of these majestic mirrors are faithful reproductions of historic pieces. Ongaro & Fuga is part of the Consorzio Promovetro di Murano – a very important consortium that is a member of Confartigianato Venezia and Confindustria Venezia. For over twenty years, they have been actively working to strengthen the image of artistic glass to preserve and defend the thousand-year-old Murano glassmaking art. This is an extremely important initiative that does a lot of good for cultural heritage. Ongaro and Fuga are proud of their Promovetro certification for producing their mirrors on Murano.

The work involved often exceeds 100 hours and can include thousands of decorative elements. It is genuine luxury and a testament to how strong European family manufactories are. For centuries, artisans have driven the evolution of the premium industry, shaping the final appearance of the product with their own hands. Everything begins with a sketch on paper. Then, the glass is gradually shaped to fit the design, using very delicate and smooth diamond grinding stones. Step by step, they refine sharp edges and uneven surfaces.
