The manufactory mainly focuses on designing and creating umbrellas with an extensive collection of patterns, shapes, and handles. These are unique masterpieces of functional art, entirely produced in Italy, in a special sector, distributed in the best boutiques worldwide. In the countryside near Mantova, there is still someone who handcrafts luxurious umbrellas and exports them to every corner of the world, using a brand that will soon celebrate its 65th anniversary: Pasotti. This Italian company is distinguished by its creativity and consistent search for materials, exclusively Italian: including enameled brass handles, Swarovski® crystals, noble silk fabrics, and stunning decorations.
“The company was founded in 1956,” explains the owner, Mrs. Eva Giacomini, “by her mother Ernesta Pasotti, who started producing unique umbrellas, selling them directly, sometimes riding a bicycle. Later, together with the current owner Vittorio, who mainly handled sales, the company grew from a small artisan manufactory into a large enterprise employing over a hundred workers. Today, there is no room for such large-scale industrial production, so the brand has scaled down and now focuses mainly on exclusive limited-edition umbrellas. Annually, it produces 40,000 handcrafted umbrellas: these are very high-quality products sold in the most prestigious boutiques in 75 countries. 93% of our turnover is abroad, mainly in Europe, North America, Russia, and China. Besides the Pasotti collection, the company is proud of a range of private label collaborations with some of the most renowned fashion brands.”
The international market is truly expanding thanks to Nicola and Andrea Begotti, the next generation involved in the most important fashion weeks and investing heavily in online presence, thereby increasing brand recognition.
