Gorini, inspired by the great Venetian painter Francesco Guardi, depicts the view from the San Marco basin and the island of San Giorgio Maggiore across from it, a sunset landscape, groups of rowers and gondoliers trying to row their boats to the quay of the square. In the blue sky, shaded by reddish clouds, the structure of the church and monastery of San Giorgio Maggiore stands out.
