The luxury Italian company Coltelleri Saladini produces knives and kitchen accessories with forged blades. Each product features an engraved manufacturer’s logo, serving as a mark of authenticity and a guarantee of quality.

Marking is done during crafting, when the blade is not yet hardened.

Saladini is very selective in choosing steel – primarily using hardened stainless steel with high or 100% carbon content.

Saladini blades are made using two processes: rolling and forging.

The rolling method is used to create knife blades, cigar cutters, and certain lines of table knives. These blades are cut from steel sheets, with thickness depending on the intended use of the knife.

The forging process is more complex and is used for kitchen, table, and collector’s knives. Hand forging allows for shaping the blades, handles, and bolsters, which are then inserted into the handle.

After tempering, both types of blades are hardened and annealed during heat treatment, which, depending on the steel composition, determines the proper hardness for an optimal cutting edge.
