Sartori is an Italian manufacturer born in the heart of Veneto from a passion for good design and ancient tradition of hand-tied knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling beautiful rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, and then in 1920, a second in Rovigo, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, when the innovative pattern of Sartori rugs started gaining popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand seized this trend and expanded its Italian market designs worldwide. These luxurious rugs gained recognition across the globe, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded to such an extent that it required opening headquarters in China. A very important project was launched in 2008. From collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., an innovative idea paved the way: using old rugs to create something entirely new and give them a second life, in line with a fresh and youthful style. This is how the Vintage Patchwork Carpet was born, telling a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. In this way, a unique and very special rug is created, a blend of noble materials that perfectly fits modern environments and the needs of contemporary furniture.
All our rugs are entirely handcrafted using exceptionally noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori.
