Sartori is an Italian brand born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for good design and ancient tradition of hand-tied knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling stylish rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, followed by a second in Rovigo in 1920, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, when Sartori's innovative rug designs began gaining popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand seized this trend and expanded its Italian market design to the whole world. These exciting rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so much that a headquarters was opened in China. A very important project was launched in 2008. From collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., an innovative idea paved the way: using old rugs to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, in line with a fresh and youthful style. This is how the Vintage Patchwork Carpet was born, telling a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and sewn by hand. This results in a unique and very special rug, a blend of noble materials that perfectly suits contemporary environments and modern furniture needs.
All our rugs are entirely handcrafted using exceptionally noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international brand selling high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and serving as a reference point for Italian-made designer rugs. Rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
