Description
Sir Basil Spence, along with Glover and Ferguson, designed the Scottish Widows Fund headquarters in Edinburgh, Scotland. This six-acre building, composed of numerous interconnected hexagonal sections that range from one to four floors, inspired our designers to create a unique contemporary Spence table. Inspired by the building, the modern table is simple yet elegant.
The Spence Center table features a walnut veneer top, clear glass, and gold leaf details. The legs of the modern central table are made from walnut veneer, with gold leaf accents and a high-gloss lacquer finish.
The Malabar brand was founded in 2012, with the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the stylish World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory collections.
Malabar has made its mark at major international trade fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing design.
Malabar’s furniture production comes from the Porto area, in northern Portugal, a region with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.
The identity of this prestigious brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.
International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that set such original companies apart. Emotions, handcrafted craftsmanship, and cosmic-inspired design create an explosive mix of exclusive furniture.
Various techniques used in creating products from natural wood produce incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.
Vivid and striking colors dominate, significantly diverging from traditional and stereotypical furniture.
In addition to wood, the manufactory uses brass, gold and silver leaf, and other high-quality raw materials.
The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in bold furniture designs.
The company’s name comes from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a daring sea route.
This remains true today, as Malabar continues to define highly individual design boundaries and evoke strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, bold, and extremely exclusive.
And these are the products we love and introduce on the My Luxury Products platform.
