iMuranesi is currently a popular international company that combines contemporary creativity with traditional Murano glass values.
However, behind this designer model lies a tradition dating back hundreds of years, when the authorities of the Venetian Republic decided to gather all glass artisans in one place. To this day, the name of this place is known worldwide, and the glass originating from there takes your breath away.
The Barbin family is one of the respected medieval families that has left its mark on Venice since the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, by decree of the Council of Ten, the Barbin clan was included in the Golden Book of Notable Murano Society, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms – two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be admired today at the Murano Glass Museum.
