Description

This geometric reindeer head is Malabar’s modern take on the classic taxidermy mount. A tribute to the majestic animal whose strength lies in its antlers, it reimagines and simplifies traditional home decor pieces, making it a trendy wall ornament.

The Antler Head is handcrafted, carved from wood, and finished with a unique multi-layered technique involving sheets of copper, ensuring each piece is exclusive

Malabar’s workshop was established in 2012, launching a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and an elegant collection of furniture by World Architects. To date, it has designed and released five exceptional series of furniture and accessories.

Malabar has showcased its work at the most prestigious international fairs, such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for industry exposure.

Malabar’s design originates from Porto, in northern Portugal, a region with a long-standing tradition of handcrafted products.

The identity of this luxury brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.

International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the hallmarks that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted details, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of luxurious furniture.

The use of various natural wood techniques results in stunning effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of their design is the combination of neutral and black tones.

Vivid and bold colors dominate, significantly departing from traditional and stereotypical furniture styles.

Besides wood, the workshop uses brass, gold and silver leaf, and other high-quality raw materials.

The Portuguese soul is vibrant and fascinating, clearly reflected in their daring furniture designs.

The company’s name derives from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history after the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a bold maritime route.

This remains true today, as Malabar continues to set highly individual design boundaries and evoke strong emotions with its projects. Their pieces are very liberated, seductive, daring, and extremely luxurious.

And these are exactly the kinds of products we love to feature on the My Luxury Products platform.

What raw materials does Malabar use in its production?

The company employs the most luxurious types of wood, including: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, elm, basswood, olive wood, bird’s eye, burl, poplar, satinwood, and ash.

Malabar also applies ancient lacquer techniques, first layering sheets of copper, gold, silver, pink, or tiger’s eye, then sealing with lacquer.

The types of glass used by the manufacturer include: dark glass, smoked, gold, antique, and antique brown.

The marbles vary as well, with options such as Sahara, Grey Kenzo, Nero Marquina, Portoro, Gris Douro, Black Gold, Guatemala Verde, Tiger’s Eye, Ochre, Calacatta Vagli, Estremoz, Carrara Gold, Carrara, White Extreme, and Travertine.

Metals are selected based on performance and quality, with high-grade premium options including copper, stainless steel, and galvanized steel. Finishes include: chrome, nickel-plated black brass, polished brass, gilded brass, polished copper, antique brass, silver brass, brushed brass, polished brass, and hammered polished copper.

We are happy to arrange a meeting to present all available materials about the Malabar brand. Our Luxury Products team will advise and select the most suitable furnishings and accessories for your interiors.
