Sartori is an Italian company born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for good design and a centuries-old tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling exquisite rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, followed by a second in Rovigo in 1920, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, when Sartori’s innovative rug designs started gaining popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand seized this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the whole world. These exciting rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded to such an extent that it became necessary to open headquarters in China. An important project was launched in 2008. Since collaborating with Diesel S.p.a., a modern concept has been paving the way: using old rugs to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, in line with a fresh and youthful style. This is how the Vintage Patchwork Carpet was born, telling a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. In this way, a unique and very special rug is created—a noble material blend that fits perfectly into contemporary environments and meets the needs of modern furniture.
