Replica of Mercedes-Benz Racing Car Transporter LO 2750, 1934-1938

After the successful launch of our post-war transporter “Blue Wonder,” it is time to offer a pre-war model. Here is a flatbed truck of the LO 2750 type, equipped with a diesel engine and a flatbed frame covered with a tarpaulin. The cover protects the valuable racing car onboard from adverse weather conditions and curious glances. A major race could attract the entire fleet of these transporters; unfortunately, none have survived to this day.

Mercedes-Benz achieved dominant victories thanks to the Silver Arrows in the racing events of the 1930s. Public attention later focused on the winning cars: Types W25, W125, W154, and W165. But no less important were the racing car transporters, which safely and securely transported the famous Silver Arrows to race tracks across Europe.

In this way, they created an indelible image of brand excellence and commitment to competition. For transporting racing cars, Mercedes-Benz had at its disposal a 2.75-ton LO 2750 type truck — produced in its own factory in Gaggenau. Thanks to its low floor and low loading platform, the vehicle was ideally suited for loading and unloading the Silver Arrows.

The reliable and economical 4-cylinder diesel engine with 65 HP enabled safe and punctual transportation to race tracks. Soon, painted in the iconic blue of Mercedes with “Mercedes-Benz Rennabteilung” on the tail, the truck became an integral part of the factory’s supply and transport chain. The racing scene was no longer possible without them.

The LO 2750 Transporter fleet often returned to Stuttgart as famous winners. After removing the tarpaulin and lowering the side panels and rear flap, the loaded winning cars were displayed for the local audience. Due to the significance of these pre-war Silver Arrow transporters, CMC decided to honor their memory with an authentic high-end model, despite the challenges involved.
