The name Horch was synonymous with regal, refined, and elegant design in the automotive industry in the 1930s. Along with the Type 853, the Zwickau car manufacturer probably presented its most extraordinary model in 1937. A versatile sports convertible with a 5-liter engine, the Horch 853 was the preferred vehicle of industrialists, actors, and prominent politicians – in short, the upper classes.

To this day, the Horch 853 remains as fascinating as ever. To capture the deep charm of this model, we decided to recreate it on a 1:12 scale with an attractive two-tone finish in black and violet-red. The larger scale allows more space for a replica of the extraordinary charisma, elegance, and value that stand out through meticulous attention to detail and functionality, including a folding roof. The handcrafted body of this model, built from 0.6 mm thick copper sheet, is an innovative breakthrough in the modeling industry, of which we are particularly proud.

Since 1995, CMC has had its own manufacturing plant with highly qualified engineers and staff in China. The result of months of research is a variety of classic car models, assembled by hand from over 1800 individual parts. The manufactory uses high-quality materials to fully preserve the “faithfulness to the original” of each vehicle model.

The manufactory focuses on all major and popular collector scales: 1:12, 1:18, 1:24, 1:43. The first model produced by the company was in 1:24 scale – the iconic Mercedes-Benz SSK from 1930. It was built in 1995 and has won many prestigious awards.

Each element is carefully assembled by hand. Instruments on the dashboard are mounted separately. The seats are covered with fabric or leather. The floor mats are laid inside and in the trunk. The replicas replicate the smallest details in accordance with the original plans of the vehicle.
