Replica Ferrari 250 GTO, Goodwood 1962, #15 Stirling Moss Team/Ireland as a gift

Finished in striking Laystall colors (light green), this was the first 250 GTO model for a right-hand drive driver. Originally, Stirling Moss was ordered to race in the UDT-Laystall team, but after his crash ending his career at Goodwood, on August 18, 1962, it was instead raced by Innes Ireland with starting number 15, achieving a direct victory at the Tourist Trophy at Goodwood. In retrospect, Ireland was mesmerized: “We received the car in Maranello, went straight to Goodwood, and immediately after changing the plug and tire, we started an hour-long test on the track.” The chassis 3506 proved successful in various races with well-known drivers, including Willy Mairesse (Le Mans Trial), Masten Gregory (Silverstone), Innes Ireland (Le Mans, Brands Hatch, Goodwood), and Gunther Philipp, an Austrian owner and racing driver who repainted chassis 3505GT red and promoted the car, winning the GP Vienne in Austria and the Preis von Wien in the GT race. In 2012, the car was purchased by the current custodian for allegedly $35 million, which was then the highest offer ever paid for a car.
