Description

The Gran Sport from 1930 was the most fascinating and successful car from the Alfa-Romeo 6C 1750 series. The original vehicle we used as the source for our high-class replica is located at the Alfa-Romeo Storico museum in Arese, Italy. The extraordinary design of this Spyder was the work of the famous coachbuilder Zagato.

In the 1930s, Alfa-Romeo still did not produce its own bodies but purchased them: for the 6C 1750 GS, the body came from the coachbuilder Zagato. This proved to be a good choice, as Zagato once again did a great job with its distinctive design language. The four-meter car had two spare wheels tucked into the rear recess. In case of bad weather, a textile top offered emergency cover or rain protection. A striking feature of this car was the removable red plastic covers of the three headlights, which were designed to improve the vehicle's aerodynamics.

The 1750 GS was powered by a 6-cylinder inline engine developed by Vitorio Jano, the brilliant chief engineer of Alfa-Romeo. It generated an impressive 85 HP at 4500 rpm. In several factory racing cars, the cylinder heads were welded (testa fissa), allowing them to reach up to 5000 rpm, achieving a remarkable power of 102 HP. Whether equipped with 85 or 102 HP, the Gran Sport was excellent. With a low total weight of 920 kg and a reduced wheelbase of 2745 mm, which radically improved its handling, the Gran Sport became the most famous Alfa-Romeo of its time. Numerous important victories across Europe, such as the Mille Miglia in 1930 and 1931 and the wet Irish Tourist Trophy race — to name just a few — made it the undisputed dominator of that racing era. Only the rigorous endurance race of the 24 Hours of Le Mans proved too challenging for the 6C 1750 GS.

About Classic Model Cars (CMC)

Stylish products combined with the highest quality finish give us the synonym of the German brand Classic Model Cars. It is a true homage to handcrafted products that captivate with their unique elegance and luxury.

CMC is one of the leading brands producing miniature vintage cars. The company creates classic and collectible car models using authentic materials and fabrics.

Since 1995, CMC has had its own production facility with highly skilled engineers and workers in China. The result of many months of research is a variety of classic car models, which are assembled by hand from over 1800 individual parts. The manufactory uses high-quality materials to fully maintain the "faithfulness to the original" of a given car model.

The manufactory focuses on all major and popular collector scales: 1:12, 1:18, 1:24, 1:43. The first model produced by the company was in 1:24 scale - the iconic Mercedes-Benz SSK from 1930. It was built in 1995 and won many prestigious awards.

Each individual element is carefully assembled by hand. The instruments on the dashboard are mounted separately. The seats are covered with fabric or leather. The floor carpeting is laid inside and in the trunk. The replicas feature the smallest details in accordance with the original plans of the given vehicle.
