The company was founded in 1987, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. It uses Himalayan wool for its exceptional rugs. This wool comes from the fleece of local sheep grazed at altitudes above 4200 meters above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, which makes OC rugs more resistant to stains.
Interesting colors are the result of manual processing and dyeing. Inspirations for the rug designs include a combination of Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and – as in the case of the Takyu VII model – nature. Many patterns are inspired by the shapes of tropical leaves or the spectacle of the setting sun over the snowy peaks of the Himalayas.
All rugs from this brand are handcrafted from silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is entirely natural, utilizing only organic materials – nuts, roots, or saffron – while maintaining the highest quality standards.
