iMuranesi is a unique venture, originally born solely in the imagination of Giampaolo Barbiní. This man brought to it the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families.

However, behind this modern project lies centuries of experience. Back then, the authorities of the Venetian Republic decided to concentrate all glassmakers in one place. To this day, the name of this place is recognized worldwide, and the products originating from there are breathtaking.
The Barbiní clan is one of the well-known medieval families that left their mark in Venice as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, by order of the Consiglio dei Dieci, the Barbiní family was included in the Golden Book of Notable Murano Society, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers.
Additionally, the Barbiní family was granted a coat of arms at that time – featuring two bearded wise men facing each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be seen today in the Glass Museum on the island of Murano.
