The company “Mila Maurizi” represents the final chapter of a craft tradition dating back to the 1940s, when Luigi Maurizi, a highly talented weaving master, began producing prestigious wicker handbags and baskets. Soon after, Maurizi expanded his markets, increasing the number of collaborators and employees to the point that in Mogliano, Maurizi contributed to the creation of a craft guild dedicated to wicker weaving.
Passion for meticulously crafted items is also shared by Giuseppe’s children: Mila and Maurizio, who in the early 1990s are the architects of the family business’s ongoing entrepreneurial evolution.
With Giuseppe (Peppe), Luigi’s son, joining the company and inspired by his vision of the enormous potential of his father’s workshop, new raw materials such as reed and bamboo were introduced, suitable for garden furniture production as well as elegant furniture accessories. Today, the brand has reached its third generation with Mila, a young entrepreneur who, with passion and expertise, continues her family’s long craft tradition by offering new interior design solutions and stylish home accessories. However, the core values remain unchanged: craftsmanship, quality, and mastery in the art of weaving, still rigorously performed by skilled hands.
The decision to maintain “Made in Italy” production reflects a desire to elevate skills and preserve the ancient craft traditions of this region. The transformation of the company since the 1950s workshop is significant, yet it remains firmly rooted in Marche through strong foundations.
