The philosophy of Berti Knives, a manufacturer of exceptional knives for various purposes, differs from this approach. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small workshop seems entirely detached from the trends that have emerged worldwide over the years. Its core idea is a commitment to tradition, which is now being upheld by the fourth generation of these skilled artisans.
The founders firmly reject the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of their knives. For this reason, their company's philosophy places special emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that the Italian family is closed to innovations. They are very welcome, provided they align with the existing vision and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized groups of workers but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
High-quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, and handles include materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, and 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that, despite being designed for everyday use, their products should be treated with respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each one is, after all, a small, unique artifact.
