Description
Ideal for cheesecakes, roulades, and other similar baked goods. Before slicing, it is recommended to dip the blade in warm water.
The times we live in are marked by increased consumption. As a result, the items we use daily are valued only for their utility. Over the years, we often do not show the proper sentiment towards them, replacing them with newer models.
The philosophy of Berti Knives differs from this approach, as it produces exceptional knives for various purposes. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small manufactory appears to be entirely independent of the trends that have dominated the world over the years. Its most important value is a commitment to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of these Italian artisans.
The owners strongly deny the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the products. Therefore, their company's philosophy places special emphasis on the employed staff. This does not mean, however, that this Italian family is closed to change. Changes are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing philosophy and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized groups of artisans but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
Only the highest quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, while handles are made from materials such as bison, buffalo, deer horns, or 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that, despite being designed for everyday use, their knives should be treated with respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each one is, after all, a small, unique artifact.
