The MIKADO collection is inspired by the game "Pick-up Sticks," which we played as children. Copper, brass, or stainless steel tubes, reminiscent of the Mikado sticks game, are cut at precise angles and assembled with great accuracy into furniture, providing essential support. The tabletop features wooden inlays deliberately arranged in various directions to create a geometric pattern.
In 2018, the Mikado collection received the “Silver A’ Design Award” in the category of “Furniture, Decorative Items, and Home Accessories.” This piece is entirely handcrafted in Portugal and produced using artisanal methods. Every stage of the process is carefully executed or supervised by the creator within a small workshop setting.
