Founded in 1910, the company "Porzellanfabriken Christian Seltmann" (Seltmann Weiden) evolved into a group through the acquisition of "Königlich Privierte Porzellanfabrik Tettau" (Königlich Tettau) along with four specialized porcelain manufacturers and an art department established in 1990 and 1995 as a family business. In five factories, approximately 800 employees produce excellent porcelain for households, hotels, and the hospitality industry. Another goal is the production of particularly valuable figurines and gifts.

Thanks to the Königlich Tettau porcelain factory (the oldest porcelain factory in Bavaria), the Seltmann Group has over 200 years of experience in porcelain production. The renowned naturalist Alexander von Humboldt fought for the establishment of the manufactory, which took place in 1794 under the privilege of Prussian King Frederick William II.

Even longer porcelain craftsmanship tradition (almost 250 years) can be found at the oldest still-operating porcelain factory in Thuringia, in Rudolstadt / Volkstedt. The "Oldest Volkstedt Porcelain Manufactory" was expanded in 2007 into a "translucent porcelain manufactory," and four factories with an artistic department in Volkstedt were merged "under one roof." Quarzsandwerke Weissenbrunn supplies high-quality raw materials and ready-made masses for the ceramics industry and is part of the corporate group.
