Malabar’s design originates from the Porto area, in northern Portugal, a region with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.

The identity of this exclusive brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.

What raw materials does Malabar use?

The brand employs the most refined types of wood, including: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, beech, basswood, olive wood, bird’s eye, irregular, poplar, satinwood, and ash.

Malabar also uses ancient lacquer techniques. First, copper, gold, silver, pink, and tiger-colored leaflets are applied, then lacquered.

The types of glass used by the manufacturer include: dark glass, smoked, gold, antique, and antique brown.

The variety of marbles includes: Sahara, grey Kenzo, Nero Marquina, Portoro, Gris Douro, Black Gold, Guatemala Verde, Tiger’s Eye, Ochiro, Calacatta Vagli, Estremoz, Carrara gold, Carrara, White Extremez, and travertine.
