Description

"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you." This is the philosophy of Frank Lloyd Wright, a prestigious architect who defined a generation and influenced the direction of 20th-century architecture. It is in homage to this undeniable name in global architecture that Malabar presents Waterlily, a modern table distinguished by its originality and sobriety.

Each surface of the "lily" is crafted using ironwood and inlay techniques, based on a black leg with a high-gloss lacquer finish. This contemporary coffee table is designed to complement selected and refined living rooms that seek inspiration from nature. The Waterlily Center Table is part of the World Architects collection.

Malabar Factory was established in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the elegant World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory collections.

Malabar has made its mark at major international fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing design.

Malabar’s design originates from Porto, a northern region of Portugal with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.

The identity of this exclusive brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.

International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define the path of such original companies. Emotion, handcrafted craftsmanship, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of luxurious furniture.

Various techniques of working with natural wood produce incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.

Vivid and bold colors dominate, significantly deviating from classic and stereotypical furniture.

Besides wood, the manufacturer uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.

The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in the daring furniture designs.

The company's name comes from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a bold sea route.

This remains true today, as Malabar continues to define highly individual design boundaries and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, daring, and extremely exclusive.

And these are the kinds of products we love and introduce on the My Luxury Products platform.

What raw materials does Malabar use?

The brand employs the most luxurious types of wood, including: ebony, walnut, American walnut, oak, ironwood, wenge, basswood, olive wood, bird’s eye, burl, poplar, satinwood, and ash.

Malabar also uses ancient lacquer application techniques. First, copper, gold, silver, pink, and tiger-colored leaf are applied, then lacquered.

The types of glass used by the manufacturer include: dark glass, smoked, gold, antique, and antique brown.

The marble varieties are diverse, including: Sahara, Gray Kenzo, Nero Marquina, Portoro, Gris Douro, Black Gold, Guatemala Verde, Tiger Skin, Ochre, Calacatta Vagli, Estremoz, Carrara Gold, Carrara, White Extreme, and Travertine.

Metals are selected based on performance and quality. High-quality premium metals such as copper, stainless steel, and galvanized steel are used. Specifically: chrome, nickel-plated black brass, polished brass, gilded brass, polished copper, antique brass, silver brass, brushed brass, polished brass, and hammered polished copper.

We are happy to arrange a meeting and present all available materials about the Malabar brand. Our Luxury Products team will advise and select the most suitable furnishings and accessories for your interiors.
