The times we live in are marked by increased consumption. Therefore, the items we use daily are often valued only for their utility. Over the years, we do not often show the proper sentiment towards them, replacing them with newer models.
Contrary to this situation, the philosophy of Berti Knives, a manufacturer of exceptional knives for various uses, stands. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small workshop appears to be completely autonomous from the trends that have dominated the world over the years. Its most important value is a commitment to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of these Italian artisans.
The owners firmly reject the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of the identity of their knives. Therefore, their company's work philosophy places a special emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to new ideas. They are very welcome, provided they bring elements consistent with the existing vision and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife production are not carried out by specialized groups of artisans but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The highest quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, and handles include materials such as bison, buffalo, deer horns, as well as 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that their products, although intended for everyday use, be treated with the appropriate respect, which guarantees their longevity. Each one is, after all, a small, unique artifact.
