E. Ferrante's painting is inspired by the works of great masters of the Posillipo school, including Antonio Pitloo and Giacinto Gigante, who used Marina as a theme to depict an idyllic landscape. The artwork features a seaside view of Messina with a tall tower located in the southeastern corner of the fortress, completely surrounded by the sea, illuminated by a classical and Mediterranean glow inspired by the history and nature of the Italian landscape.
