The company was founded in 1987, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship at the same time. It chooses Himalayan wool from the fleece of local sheep for its production. These sheep graze at altitudes above 4200 meters above sea level, and their wool is rich in lanolin. This unique feature makes Odegard Carpets more stain-resistant.
Interesting colors result from manual processing and dyeing. Inspiration for creating carpets comes from both Venetian textiles, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many patterns are inspired by the shapes of tropical leaves or the shades of the setting sun over the peaks of the picturesque Himalayas.
