Description
Hollow is an outdoor sculpture installed on the University of Bristol campus by architects Zeller & Moyne and artist Katie Paterson. It combines various types of wood, as well as artworks composed of samples from over 10,000 tree species.
Inspired by this magnificent structure, our design team created something unique and conceived the modern Hollow sideboard. The modern sideboard is a distinctive piece to add to our World Architects collection.
The sideboard features different types of wood, combined with a brass structure that creates a beautiful landscape suitable for any contemporary home decor. Hollow is part of the World Architects collection.
Malabar was founded in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the stylish World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory series.
Malabar has made its mark at the most prestigious international trade fairs, such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing.
Malabar’s design originates from Porto, in northern Portugal, an area with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.
The identity of this prestigious brand is based on the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.
International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted techniques, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of luxurious furniture.
The use of various natural wood manufacturing techniques results in incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.
Vivid and bold hues dominate, significantly diverging from classic and stereotypical furniture.
Besides wood, the brand uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.
The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in the daring furniture designs.
The company’s name comes from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The rarity of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a bold maritime route.
This remains true today, as Malabar continues to define highly individual design boundaries and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, daring, and extremely exclusive.
These are exactly the kinds of products we love and introduce to the My Luxury Products platform.
What raw materials does Malabar use in its production?
