Description
The modern Almirante cabinet showcases patterned tiles produced in the mid-19th century, covering thousands of buildings in Lisbon, such as the Viúva Lamego factory, where ceramics have been manufactured for many years.
All in blue and white, this famous facade of Avenida Almirante Reis is one of the most beautiful in the city. Despite its traditional material and technique, Almirante is a contemporary cabinet and a work of art, combining hand-painted wood with a gilded brass base.
The modern Almirante cabinet is a heritage piece with contemporary design that brings Portuguese tradition into luxurious residential interiors.
Malabar manufactory was established in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and a collection of stylish furniture by World Architects. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory collections.
Malabar has made its mark at major international fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing.
Malabar furniture production comes from the Porto area, in northern Portugal, a region with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.
The identity of this prestigious brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.
International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted craftsmanship, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of luxurious furniture.
Various techniques used in creating products from natural wood produce incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.
Vivid and bold colors dominate, significantly diverging from classic and stereotypical furniture.
Besides wood, the manufactory uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.
The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in the daring furniture designs.
The company's name comes from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a bold sea route.
This remains true today, as Malabar continues to set highly individual design boundaries and evoke strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, daring, and extremely exclusive.
And these are exactly the products we love and introduce on the My Luxury Products platform.
