Sartori is an Italian manufacturer born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for high-quality design and a centuries-old tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling exquisite rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, and later in 1920, a second in Rovigo, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, as the modern design of Sartori rugs gained popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand embraced this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the world. These exciting rugs gained worldwide recognition, becoming a coveted item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so much that it became necessary to open a headquarters in China. A significant project was launched in 2008. Collaborating with Diesel S.p.a., a modern idea took shape: repurposing old rugs to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, aligned with a fresh and youthful style. This led to the creation of the Vintage Patchwork Carpet, which tells a story of revival: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This results in a unique and very special rug, a blend of noble materials that fits perfectly into contemporary environments and meets the needs of modern furniture.
All our rugs are handcrafted entirely from exceptionally noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international brand selling high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and serving as a benchmark for Italian-designed rugs. The rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
