Sartori is an Italian company born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for good design and a long tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling exquisite rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, followed by a second in Rovigo in 1920, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, when the modern design of Sartori rugs started gaining popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand embraced this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the whole world. These exciting rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded to such an extent that it became necessary to open headquarters in China. A very important project was launched in 2008. Collaborating with Diesel S.p.a., the innovative idea paved the way: using old rugs to create something entirely new and give them a second life, in a fresh and youthful style. This is how the Vintage Patchwork Carpet was born, telling a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This process results in a unique and very special rug, made from noble materials and perfectly suited to contemporary environments and the needs of modern furniture.
All our rugs are handcrafted entirely from exceptionally noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international company selling high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and serving as a benchmark for Italian-designed rugs. Rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
