Description
In 1954, thanks to the innovative efforts of the Daimler-Benz testing department, a unique handcrafted transporter was born, and its rounded shape has remained distinctive ever since. Used by the MB racing team during the 1954/1955 season, the vehicle performed brilliantly in the quick transportation of racing cars such as the W196 and 300SLR.
CMC offers an extraordinary collectible of this car, which boasts exceptional quality combining many functional parts with a faithful reproduction of the vehicle's original charm.
Over the years, the “Blue Wonder” has been one of our best-selling models. This was no surprise considering its magnificent contours and numerous functional features. The use of top-quality materials, combined with perfect craftsmanship and a high-gloss dark blue finish, has made this replica a true collector’s item, belonging to a special class.
Years have passed since this model was sold out, and it’s time to fill the gap. But instead of offering a remake of the old M-036, we introduce a new version that includes details and accessories newly discovered from archives. These include chromed wheel hubs, a decorated Mercedes star inlaid at the front, orange auxiliary lights, stone guards on the rear fenders, not to mention the rear light assembly, the oval national emblem “D” at the back, and the black matte loading ramp.
This new offering is certainly late for those eager to find the right transporter for their W196 Monoposto and Streamliner, 300 SLR models of various types, and Uhlenhaut Coupé!
Blue Wonder
In 1954, the Mercedes-Benz testing department handcrafted a one-of-a-kind model — a racing car transporter. With its dark blue finish, smooth body curves, and a top speed of 170 km/h, the “Blue Wonder” caused as much sensation as the racing cars it carried.
After Daimler-Benz withdrew from racing in 1955, the “Blue Wonder” disappeared from public view and was ultimately scrapped in 1967. It was only in the early 1990s that Daimler-Benz remembered this jewel and commissioned a replica rebuild under the supervision of the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center to ensure fidelity to the original.

Each element is carefully assembled by hand. Instruments on the dashboard are mounted separately. The seats are covered with fabric or leather. The interior and trunk feature detailed carpeting. The replicas faithfully reproduce the smallest details according to the original plans of each vehicle.
