From a Small Workshop to an Icon of Damascening Art
The history of Credan begins in 1965, when Ángel Gómez Alonso, from a family with multi-generational traditions in damascening, opened his own small workshop. It was here, in an area of less than 25 m2, that he began his work – initially focusing on recreating ancient patterns and restoring artifacts. His artistic craftsmanship was quickly recognized, and Creaciones Dangel transformed into Credan. By 1975, the company moved to a much larger and technologically advanced headquarters. However, despite the passage of time and increasingly modern techniques of metalworking and material embellishment – Credan does not forget its centuries-old tradition. Here, damascening decorations are still made as they were centuries ago, always using exclusive materials. This is how artifacts are created, whose quality exceeds even the boldest expectations.
