This type of knife is extremely sharp, designed to effectively separate meat from bone. It’s the perfect tool for butchery tasks!

Luxurious Italian brand Coltelleri Saladini creates kitchen knives with forged blades. Each blade features an engraved logo of the manufacturer — proof of authenticity and a quality guarantee.

Marking is done during the craft process, when the blade is not yet hardened.

Saladini is very selective in choosing steel — mainly using hardened stainless steel with high or 100% carbon content.

For manufacturing blades, Saladini uses two processes: quenching and forging.

Quenching is used to create blades for knives, cigar cutters, and certain lines of table knives. These blades are cut from steel sheets, whose thickness depends on the intended use of the knife.

The most challenging process is forging, performed with a hammer and anvil, used for kitchen, table, and collector’s knives. Hand forging allows for creating precise shapes of blades, handles, and bolsters, which are then fitted into the handles.

After tempering, both types of blades undergo hardening and annealing in heat treatment, which, depending on the steel composition, determines the proper hardness for an optimal cutting edge.
