Contrary to this trend, the philosophy of Berti Knives, a manufacturer of exclusive knives for various purposes, stands. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop appears to be entirely independent of the trends that have dominated the world over the years. Its main guiding principle is a commitment to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The founders firmly reject the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity in the products made. Therefore, their company's philosophy places special emphasis on the employed personnel. This does not mean, however, that this Italian family is closed to new innovations. They are highly desirable, provided they do not conflict with the existing philosophy and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized groups of artisans, but are often carried out from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, every blade is completely unique.
The highest quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, while handles are made from materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, or 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that their products, despite being intended for everyday use, are treated with the appropriate respect, which guarantees their longevity. Each of them is a small, unique work of art.
