Luxurious modern square center table inspired by the Ionic order of classical architecture - Insidherland

Ionic central tables are based on one of the three classic architectural styles developed in ancient Greek temples called Ionic. Unlike the Doric, the oldest and most massive order, the columns of the Ionic and Corinthian orders consisted of three elements: the base, shaft, and capital. As symbols of worship, over the centuries many impressive temples were destroyed or simply fell into ruin.

The remains of Ionic temples with their beautifully preserved columns inspired the creation of Ionic central tables, each featuring a tripartite column missing one of its elements. This approach to an incomplete Ionic column uniquely presents the unadorned forms of the base and capital, as the missing shaft is replaced with a modern metal structure comprising two separate elements. Ionic central tables, counteracting the construction process of ancient temples, have a delicate conical shape that allows for less contact with the floor, referencing how free modern forms would be used in the tripartite construction of a classical temple.
