Sartori is an Italian manufacturer born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for good design and a long tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling beautiful rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, followed by a second in Rovigo in 1920, specializing in home furnishings. In the 1950s, as the modern pattern of Sartori rugs gained popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand embraced this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the world. These exciting rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a sought-after item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so much that it became necessary to open headquarters in China. A very important project was launched in 2008. Following a collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., a modern idea took shape: using old rugs to create something entirely new and give them a second life, in line with a fresh and youthful style. This gave birth to the Vintage Patchwork Carpet, which tells a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This results in a unique and very special rug, a blend of noble materials that perfectly fits contemporary environments and the needs of modern furniture.
All our rugs are handcrafted from high-quality noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori. Today, Sartori is an international manufacturer selling high-quality, valuable rugs worldwide and serving as a benchmark for Italian-designed rugs. The rugs are made from wool and banana silk.
