We are pleased to announce new products from the exceptionally luxurious brand Ongaro & Fuga, founded in 1954 by Franco Fuga and his wife Tullia Ongaro. The collaboration of these two highly creative individuals has resulted in a distinctive and fresh perspective on art. They proudly emphasize that Ongaro & Fuga is a centuries-old tradition, reviving the magic and prestige of Venetian mirrors.
Their talent was inherited by their son Julian, who continues the family traditions. Through collaborations with international artists and designers, he creates a bridge to the future. This is a tribute to family and multi-generational craftsmanship. Julian believes that every cloud or colorful Italian facade reflecting in the lagoon waters provides vibrant material for new projects. Many of these luxurious mirrors are faithful reproductions of antique pieces. Ongaro & Fuga is part of the Consorzio Promovetro di Murano – a very important consortium that is a member of Confartigianato Venezia and Confindustria Venezia. For over twenty years, they have been actively working to strengthen the image of artistic glass to preserve and defend the thousand-year-old Murano glassmaking tradition. This is a highly significant initiative that does much good for cultural heritage. Ongaro & Fuga are proud to hold the Promovetro certification for producing their mirrors on Murano.
How are these famous mirrors made?
It is an extraordinary product by its very nature. The reflection of this beauty is the result of very long work—crafted with the hands, heart, and soul. That is why Ongaro & Fuga’s artistic mirrors come with a premium price. The craftsmanship involved often exceeds 100 hours and can include thousands of decorative elements. This is true luxury and a testament to the strength of European family workshops. For centuries, artisans have driven the evolution of the premium industry, shaping the final appearance of each piece with their own hands. Everything begins with a sketch on paper. Then, the glass is gradually shaped to fit the design, using very delicate and smooth diamond grinding stones. Step by step, they refine sharp edges and uneven surfaces. From a brilliant idea, a luxurious harmony of tradition and modernity is born! It’s magic—these mirrors, if they wish, can become the focal point of your interior.
