Sartori is an Italian company born in the heart of Veneto, driven by a passion for good design and a centuries-old tradition of handwoven knots. Their journey began in 1882 when patriarch Luigi Sartori started selling stylish rugs in Verona, opening the first shop, and later in 1920, the second in Rovigo, selling home furnishings. In the 1950s, when Sartori’s innovative rug designs started gaining popularity in Scandinavian countries, the brand capitalized on this trend and expanded its design market from Italy to the world. These elegant rugs gained recognition worldwide, becoming a coveted item in designer interiors.
In the 21st century, production and sales expanded so much that it became necessary to open a headquarters in China. An important project was launched in 2008. From collaboration with Diesel S.p.a., a modern idea took shape: using old rugs to create something entirely new and giving them a second life, in line with a fresh and youthful style. This gave rise to the Vintage Patchwork Carpet, which tells a story of rebirth: classic or antique rugs are faded, cut, painted, and hand-sewn. This results in a unique and very special rug, a synthesis of noble materials that perfectly fits modern environments and the needs of contemporary furniture.
Absolutely all our rugs are handcrafted entirely using exceptionally noble materials and originate from designs developed in Italy under the creative direction of architect Paolo Sartori.
