Limited Edition Platinum FUJI Uroko-Gumo Collection
To celebrate the launch of the flagship Platinum #3776 CENTURY model, a special collection of fountain pens called “Fuji Five Lakes” was created between 2011 and 2016. Later, from 2017 to 2021, the “Fuji Shunkei” collection was introduced, showcasing beautiful seasonal scenes of Mount Fuji on the pen body using advanced cutting techniques.
This year, Platinum introduces a new collection of fountain pens: “Fuji Unkei”.
This collection is inspired by the breathtaking scenery of Mount Fuji surrounded by delicate clouds. It depicts this natural wonder transferred onto the fountain pen body using various decorative techniques.
The debut pen in the Fuji Unkei collection is “Uroko-Gumo”.
The body of the fountain pen is cut into an irregular pattern, unlike the regular patterns of the Fuji Shunkei series, to capture the beauty and uniqueness of cirrocumulus clouds (in Japanese, “Uroko-Gumo”). These small indentations on the body create a complex play of light and reflections, showcasing natural, beautiful aesthetics. Shadows cast by light passing through the pen body resemble cirrocumulus clouds.
For the first time in the #3776 CENTURY collection, Uroko-Gumo features a two-tone pattern with different colors on the cap and body. The stylish dark blue-gray cap depicts the surface of Mount Fuji colored according to the season and time, while the contrasting, transparent body features an intricately carved pattern.
The fountain pen is placed in a special gift box, which also includes a navy blue ink cartridge for starting, a converter, and a 20ml bottle of special mixing ink Aka-Fuji. This ink has a green hue that, over time and exposure to light, shifts to a reddish tint.
The fountain pen has a rhodium-plated 14-karat gold nib.
