The origins of the New York-based Warp & Weft brand date back to 2001. At that time, Michael Mandapati decided to establish an exclusive company. The rugs are made from raw materials such as Himalayan wool, mulberry silk, as well as nettles, hemp, or linen. For dyeing, plant-based methods are primarily used, appealing to those who care about ecology.
Each product is handcrafted in Nepal by highly skilled workers. Afterwards, the rugs are shipped to Switzerland, where they are finished to achieve their final appearance. Thanks to increased lanolin content, these products are softer, more stain-resistant, and acquire a unique shine.
