Odegard Carpets emerged in the late 1980s, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. They prefer to use Himalayan wool for production. It comes from the fleece of local sheep grazing at altitudes above 4200 meters above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, which makes Odegard Carpets rugs more resistant to dirt.
Interesting shades result from manual processing and dyeing. Inspiration for creating the rugs comes from a blend of Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many motifs are inspired by the shapes of tropical leaves or the hues of the setting sun over the snowy peaks of the Himalayas.
All products from this company are handmade from highly selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is entirely natural, using organic materials—nuts, roots, or saffron—while maintaining the highest quality standards.
