The origins of Warp & Weft’s New York operation date back to 2001. It was then that Michael Mandapati decided to establish this exceptional place.
The production uses raw materials such as Himalayan wool, mulberry silk, as well as nettle, hemp, and linen. For dyeing, plant-based methods are employed, which is a very eco-friendly process and will surely appeal to those who care about sustainability.
Each product is made in Nepal, where highly skilled artisans craft them by hand. Afterwards, the rugs are transported to Switzerland, where they are finished, gaining a unique appearance. Thanks to increased lanolin content, they are softer, more stain-resistant, and acquire a remarkable sheen.
