Odegard Carpets was established in the late 1980s, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. It uses Himalayan wool from sheep grazing at altitudes above 14,000 feet above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, which directly makes Odegard Carpets wool rugs more resistant to dirt.
Vivid colors are the result of manual processing and dyeing. Inspirations for the rug designs include a blend of Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many patterns are also inspired by the shapes of tropical leaves or the subtle hues of the setting sun over snowy Himalayan peaks.
All Odegard Carpets rugs are handmade from highly selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing of the wool is a fully natural process. Only organic materials are used, such as nuts, roots, or saffron, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
