Odegard Carpets was founded in the late 1980s, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. They select Himalayan wool from the fleece of local sheep, which graze at over 14,000 feet above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, making Odegard Carpets rugs and kilims more stain-resistant.
Intense shades are the result of manual processing and dyeing. Inspiration for creating rugs comes from Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many patterns are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the colors of the setting sun over the picturesque Himalayan peaks.
All rugs from this brand are handmade from carefully selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. The dyeing process is entirely natural. Organic materials such as nuts, roots, or saffron are used, while maintaining the highest quality.
