The Italian company Mepra was founded in 1947, but the entrepreneurial history of the Prandelli family begins many years earlier. In 1901, brothers Bortolo, Francesco, and Giovanbattista founded the first family company Prandelli in the Lumezzane valley on the banks of the Gobbia River to harness the kinetic energy of water, which would enable the operation of machinery.

The Mepra company was created in 1947 by the Prandelli brothers. The first factory producing 18/10 stainless steel cutlery was established in Lumezzane. For subsequent generations, the Prandelli family actively engaged in pursuing this passion. The brand's products are found on the tables of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants worldwide.
